Parks in Sheffield: Green spaces

Sheffield Botanical Gardens

Sheffield Botanical Gardens, located in the city centre, the gardens were established in 1836 and currently span 19 acres. The gardens are designated as a Grade II site of special historic and architectural importance by English Heritage. The park is a lovely place for a walk or a sit down, the indoor gardens are gorgeous and have lots of vibrant plants if you’re a plant enthusiast!

Graves park

Looking for a free day out that’s jam-packed with adventure? Start at Sheffield’s Graves Park! Graves Park, spanning 248 acres, is Sheffield’s biggest park in the city’s south-west. The park includes an abundance of good amenities and activities for children, such as the new adventure playground. There’s lots to try out, whether you want to leap from monkey bars, dip and dive through hoops, or even challenge a friend to a game of cricket on the adjoining cricket ground! There is also an animal farm nearby, and it’s free!

Endcliffe Park

Endcliffe Park is a park in the Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The park opened in 1887 to mark Queen Victoria’s Jubilee. With comprising parkland as well as woodland, Endcliffe Park is the first in a series of parks and green spaces, known collectively as Porter Valley Parks. There are duck ponds, riverfront walkways, and lots of room for ball sports in the park. There’s also a huge children’s play area, parkour, and the Endcliffe Park Cafe, which serves locally produced food. The park also hosts a variety of events on a regular basis!

Millhouses Park

Millhouses Park is located around 3.5 miles from the city centre. It includes excellent play, sporting, and café facilities and has been a public park for over a century! The park is a beautiful place in all seasons for a walk with the kids or the dog.
